Baba Amr Bleeds

,This isn‘t about control. This is only about revenge.‘

The words of a tweep which can be proved by the incredible brutality the Syrian regime uses to crackdown the uprising regarding the besieged South-Western area of Homs. No one expected the regime forces wearing velvet gloves while attacking the rebellious hotspots but what the world is facing now in Baba Amr bears any comparison of the contemporary times.

Maybe Benghazi would have expected a similar fate if the UN resolution last year didn‘t pass and the Gaddafi forces were given free hand to take down the Libyan freedom fight straight in the beginning. Even a comparison with the heavily bombed Misrata bears in the meantime any resemblance.

This shot is taken from an uploaded Youtube-video dated Feb 22, 2012. In the right part of the image the smoke cloud of a detonated grenade can be seen.

The destructions have become immense dimensions. Hundreds of families have lost their homes being randomly shelled by RPG‘s and tank grenades. Most of Baba Amr‘s inhabitants are living in the meantime under very critical conditions, hiding in cellars, no food, no fresh water, no heating, under catastrophal hygienic circumstances.

,This is only about revenge.‘

Under the pretext of hunting ,armed gangs‘ the regime forces only want to humiliate the civilians to grant Assad‘s claim of being the master upon the Syrian people as servants, as controlled mass the privileged minority regime class - not the Alawis in general - can treat however it likes. Sustaining a medieval ruling system is its‘ only purpose and their partners in crime, from old-school KGB hardliners like Lavrov to sectarian puppets like Nasrallah, are doing their best to keep the deadly dynasty in power. And the rest of the world seems only able to comment and to watch but not to act. While the foreign ministers and the United Nations ambassadors are giving one statement after the other condemning the crackdown measures nothing really effectful happens.

The shelling of Baba Amr and other parts in Syria continues, the humanitarian situation on the ground becomes more and more dramatic, only the iron will for freedom and the amazing resilience of the Syrians and the sheltering actions the slowly growing FSA is taking are keeping the revolutionary movement up. But to witness day by day deadly shot minors, disgustingly tortured bodies of detained activists and horribly mutilate victims of the regime violence is in fact exhausting, demanding strong nerves not to breakdown regarding those images.

On Feb 19, 2012 another tweep posted this sign: The text written says: ,Welcome to Homs. Welcome martyrs, you are two meters away from heaven.‘

It seems that Baba Amr is now becoming rebuild in paradise by the martyrs there. And it will be a free Baba Amr there because the murderous thugs being responsible for the tragedy on earth are denied access to the heavenly place. Their home will be in hell, the only place they belong to ..
